Today we are celebrating the last Sunday of this year’s summer holidays. To everyone who is coming to the end of their stay in Peterborough, I wish God’s blessing in your daily duties, and we invite you to visit us again next year.
At the beginning of the new school year, the Church appeals to everyone to make every effort so that the participation of children and young people in catechesis is marked from the very beginning by full and conscious commitment.
Growth in faith and sensitivity to God’s law does not happen occasionally, but through systematic listening to and reflection on the Word of God during catechesis and at the Sunday Eucharist, which is a personal encounter with the Lord.
The family is the first place where children receive their upbringing, including their religious formation.
Tomorrow we commemorate the 46th anniversary of the August Agreements, and on Tuesday the 87th anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World War.
Let us remember in our prayers all those who gave their lives in defence of our homeland, and let us pray for peace in the world.
Thank you for cleaning the church in preparation for this Sunday. At the same time, we also invite new people who would like to support those who regularly help with the cleaning.
